Dr’s Johan and Zoë attended to Thembi, a White rhino cow with a beautiful little calf, last week. Unfortunately there were maggots in her wound, and the inflammation caused her to have some difficulty breathing. The team had to work quickly to clean and dress the wound, and apply the fibreglass covering. The attending vet looked after the calf while we were monitoring her breathing.
